This MLB baseball team is letting fans pay to put their face on cardboard cutouts

WASHINGTON (SBG) — Some baseball fans aren't going to let the coronavirus stop their display of team spirit when the season starts in July.

Major League Baseball fans in Oakland, California, can now purchase cardboard cutout of themselves to be placed in the seats around the stadium in their stead.

The MLB announced they would still have a baseball season, but fans would not be allowed into stadiums because of COVID-19.

Each cutout purchased for the Oakland A's games will run you $49 to $129. MLB plans to authenticate each cutout as an official virtual fan by the league.

If a ball travels into the foul territory and strikes a virtual fan at any time during gameplay, the team plans to send them a baseball.

Oakland A's fans looking to participate can sign-up and submit their photo via the team's website.
